Beautiful Historic Sitka

Surrounded by the sea with mountains for its backdrop, Sikta is a historic fishing village in Southeast Alaska.  Originally settled by the Russians in 1799, Sitka today is a community of 9,000 people.  With numerous surrounding islands and waterways and no direct road link to the mainland, it is considered the most beautiful seaside town in Alaska.  Sitka is located on Baranof Island and is the western-most town in Southeast Alaska.  Being adjacent to the Gulf of Alaska provides world renowned sportfishing opportunities.  Visit the Sitka Convention & Visitors Bureau website at www.sitka.org for more information.
